Lazio is on the doorsteps of completing its first major transfer signing of the upcoming summer window.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio has now come to personal terms with Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Torreira is well intrigued with Lazio’s sporting project and has agreed to lower his wages for next season in order to facilitate this deal.

Thus, the Arsenal talent will earn €3 million next season coupled with bonuses.

Lazio has also struck a deal with Arsenal for Torreira, as noted by football journalist Pedro Almeida.

Lazio is on the verge of finalizing a loan deal for Torreira that will come with a purchase option, as Biancocelesti club officials will have the opportunity to keep the midfielder for a fee of €15-20m.

This will be the second consecutive loan stint of Torreira’s career, as he spent the past season with eventual La Liga winners Atletico Madrid.

For the moment, Torreira is currently competing with the Uruguayan national team in the 2021 Copa America, so it will be noteworthy to see whether Lazio and Arsenal plan to wait a bit to officially announce their agreement for the midfielder.
