Atletico Madrid Have a Plan to Sign Lazio’s Luiz Felipe, Spanish Media Detail

Atletico Madrid have a plan to sign Lazio defender Luiz Felipe this summer.

As reported by Spanish newspaper AS (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, Diego Simeone’s side have their eye on the 24-year-old Brazilian defender and believe that he would be an excellent fit in the squad.

The Spanish side have two ideas to try and sign him – either they’ll try to push for him this summer, offering Lazio around €15 million, or they’ll wait until next summer to sign him on a free transfer.

Lazio do not want to lose Luiz Felipe, however, and are currently working to offer him a four-year contract extension.

The 24-year-old Brazilian is one of the players considered unsellable by new coach Maurizio Sarri, with his place in the starting 11 guaranteed alongside Francesco Acerbi.

Luiz Felipe withdrew from Brazil’s Olympic squad earlier this month in order to focus on reaching full fitness and being fully prepared for Sarri ahead of next season.
