Lazio are considering signing AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli this summer.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian defender’s contract expires with the Rossoneri at the end of next season in 2022, and so far, there has been no agreement regarding a contract renewal.

The relationship between the player and AC Milan’s management is not as good as it used to be, and Lazio are thinking about taking advantage of the situation.

Romagnoli has never hidden his passion for Lazio and so may be willing to make the move from Milan to Rome this summer, should a suitable offer arrive.

Barcelona were previously interested in the 26-year-old Italian but the Catalan side haven’t been in contact in some time, leaving Lazio the chance to acquire him this summer.

The 26-year-old Romagnoli made 22 Serie A appearances this season under coach Stefano Pioli, for a total of 1907 minutes. In that time, he helped the side keep seven clean sheets.
