Lazio in Talks With Benfica for Barcelona & Atletico Madrid Linked Grimaldo

Lazio are in talks with Benfica for Spanish left-back Alejandro Grimaldo, who has also been linked to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

As reported by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo earlier today, the Biancocelesti have identified the 25-year-old Spanish full-back as a strong option to strengthen new coach Maurizio Sarri’s squad, and are already in contact with the Portuguese club regarding a possible deal.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also both interested in Grimaldo, but that has not stopped Lazio from opening talks for the player, even in the face of strong competition.

The 25-year-old Grimaldo, who is contracted to Benfica until 2023, made 31 Liga NOS appearances this season, for a total of 2466 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals and provided 10 assists.
