The deals for Fiorentina’s Jose Callejon and German Pezzella are still a possibility but Lazio must wait for the Viola to secure their new coach.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Nazione (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Florence-based club are still working to find a new head coach, following the surprise departure of Gennaro Gattuso earlier this month. Once this has been resolved, the club will begin working on the transfer market again.

Fiorentina are open to a free transfer for Callejon, either a dry loan or releasing him on free, so they can get rid of his hefty salary, allowing Lazio to swoop in and sign a player who knows Sarri well and fits his 4-3-3 system.
A deal for the 29-year-old Pezzella is also still on the table. The Argentinian defender’s contract expires with Fiorentina in 2022 and he is valued at around €10 million, although he could be secured for a lower fee of around €7-8 million, or even a loan deal with a buy obligation attached.

Considering that his contract expires next year, the obligation to buy clause could not be linked to any objectives, but would still allow the club to spread the cost a little.
Developments are expected over the coming weeks, as Fiorentina still need to resolve their coaching problem first.
