Lazio Held to Frustrating 1-1 Draw by Bologna in First Leg of Primavera 1 TIM Playouts

Lazio faced Bologna in the first leg of the 2020/21 Primavera 1 TIM playout matches.

The Rossoblu finished 14th in the regular season, ending up eight points ahead of the Biancocelesti. The team were tied on points with Torino, almost managing to avoid these two playout games.

Coach Alessandro Calori oversaw his third game in charge of Lazio’s Primavera squad and has still not managed to find a win yet, leaving everything up for grabs in the return leg.

The Biancocelesti started the first half well, with good attacking movements from Raul Moro and Simone Castigliani.

The Roman club remained in control before taking the lead in the 30th minute, with a well-placed cross from Mattia Novella being met by Moro, who calmly passed across the box to Florent Shehu.

The match became a little closer after this, with Bologna soon finding an equaliser in the 39th minute. Gabriel Pereira failed to close down Edoardo Vergani, allowing the 20-year-old Italian to take a controlled shot to the far post.

The second half did not see a lot of action, with the Rossoblu choosing to mostly defend deep. Lazio failed to break down the defense and in the end, the match ended 1-1, leaving everything up for grabs in the return leg which is scheduled for Tuesday 29th June.
