Lazio may soon have its first free transfer signing of the upcoming summer transfer window.
As noted by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Biancocelesti are set to meet with the representatives of soon-to-be former Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj on Wednesday; club officials are looking to come to terms with Hysaj on a five-year free transfer deal, the report added.
It is not known whether the Biancocelesti aims to officially announce this deal on Wednesday or if they prefer to wait until July 1, when he will hit free agency.
The long-time Napoli talent is well intrigued with reuniting with former manager Maurizio Sarri at Lazio. Hysaj featured under Sarri during the Italian manager’s notable run with Napoli, which included multiple top-four finishes in Serie A.
With Lazio now on the verge of acquiring a right-back, the Biancocelesti will surely now go all in to haul in a starting left-back for next season, especially as club officials work to revamp the team under the former Juventus manager.
