Jordan Lukaku heads into yet another summer transfer window uncertain of where he will be playing football in the coming season.
Lukaku spent the past year with Belgian side Royal Antwerp FC on a one-season loan deal that included an option to buy. Although Lukaku had his fair share of promising showings over the recent season, the wing-back is now set for a return to parent club Lazio.
As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Antwerp has declined the opportunity to sign Lukaku on a permanent transfer deal. As a result, Lukaku will return to Lazio on July 1, where he will then head into his final season under contract with the Biancocelesti.
It is not yet known just what Lazio club officials have in mind for Lukaku, whether they will opt to keep him or attempt to offload him once again.
Lukaku will surely have much to prove next season if he is given the chance to play under Maurizio Sarri.
