Lazio linked left back Nuno Tavares will be joining Premier League side Arsenal.
As reported by Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano on Twitter earlier today, the 21-year-old Portuguese full back will sign for the Gunners in the coming hours, with the North London club paying Benfica €8 million plus add-ons.

Both Lazio and Napoli were keen to acquire Tavares, with the Biancocelesti even meeting the player’s representatives earlier this month.
Benfica put a €15 million price tag on the 21-year-old Portuguese left back, but Arsenal managed to reach a deal for a little less, although it’s unknown currently what the attached add-ons are.

Tavares made 14 Liga NOS appearances this season, for a total of 635 minutes. He struggled for consistent minutes, only making seven league starts all campaign.
The Biancocelesti will now have to focus on other targets for the left back role, with Elseid Hysaj reportedly close to signing a four-year deal with the club on a free transfer.
