As reported by Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter earlier today, the 24-year-old Croatian midfielder has agreed to a four-year contract with the Biancocelesti worth €1.4 million net per season.
Bordeaux want around €10 million for Basic, whose contract expires with the French club next year in 2022.
Lazio have offered €6 million plus €1.5 million in add-ons, but are now preparing a new offer as they look to close out the deal for the Croatian midfielder, who is one of coach Maurizio Sarri’s transfer targets.
The 24-year-old Basic, who joined Bordeaux in 2018, made 34 Ligue 1 appearances this season, for a total of 2611 minutes. In that time, he scored four goals, provided one assist and produced 52 shot-creating actions. He is able to play as both a central and defensive midfielder, giving Sarri some options in his midfield.
Toma #Basic has agreed personal terms with #Lazio for a contract until 2025 (€1,4M/year). #Bordeaux ask still €10M to sell him. Lazio have offered €6M + €1,5M as bonuses (first offer) and preparing a new bid. The croatian midfielder is a main target for Sarri. #transfers https://t.co/9RQMgypfgq
