Lazio wing-back Mohamed Fares had his fair share of struggles over his debut campaign with the club and thus is on the verge of leaving in the coming months.
According to a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio is well open to offloading Fares over the upcoming summer transfer window.
For the moment, Serie A sides Cagliari and Torino are both interested in signing the outcast Lazio talent; however, Cagliari is viewed as more of the frontrunners in this transfer pursuit and would be open to upping his yearly salary contract.
It is not yet known whether Cagliari plans to complete this possible deal over the opening week of the upcoming summer transfer window.
With new Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri set to line up the side under a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 setup next season, Fares may not be a viable fit under either system and thus a departure is expected soon.
