Italy international Lorenzo Insigne faces an uncertain future with Napoli and over the past couple of weeks, Lazio has been in the rumor mill over a possible deal.
Lazio has not been reported to show a serious interest in signing the Serie A star, but links have emerged on this matter, especially considering the Biancocelesti’s recent managerial appointment of former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri.
For the moment, Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis remains at a standstill regarding the future of Insigne. Still, he did provide an update on this matter during a recent press conference (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).
We didn’t see each other, as we needed to finish our campaign in the best possible way and he has been on the retreat with the national team. We did not want to mess up anything. We said that after the Euros, we will meet, talk and it will be what it will be.
For now, Insigne is all well focused on helping the Italian national team pull off a notable deep run in the Euro 2020 knockout stage, and the team’s journey in this tournament will continue in the upcoming quarter-final showdown with Belgium.
The Azzurri is well looking to claim a Euro win for the first time since 1968.
