Uncertain Future for Strakosha as Lazio Look to Solve Goalkeeper Issues

Lazio’s goalkeeper situation is a little unclear ahead of coach Maurizio Sarri’s pre-season training camp.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, both goalkeepers Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina have contracts expiring next year in 2022, highlighting the club’s need to sign a new shot-stopper this summer.

There is a chance that the Biancocelesti start the season with the duo, and they will offer a contract renewal to the 26-year-old Strakosha, although it’s currently unclear whether the player would sign the deal or not.

Strakosha could decide to stay and then move to another club in the January transfer window, but everything will depend on the choices of coach Sarri.

The 62-year-old Italian coach will fully evaluate the position in this summer’s pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, and then it’ll become more apparent what the solution will be.

Lazio have been linked with some goalkeepers this summer, such as Atalanta’s Pierluigi Gollini and Sampdoria’s Emil Audero, but nothing concrete has occurred so far.
