Lazio Defender Vavro: “With the Arrival of a New Coach, I’ll Be Even More Motivated”

Lazio defender Denis Vavro highlighted how the change of coach has motivated him to stay in Rome.

As stated in Denmark and reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 25-year-old Slovakian defender touched on the appointment of coach Maurizio Sarri.

After the holidays I will return to Rome. With the arrival of a new coach, I’ll be even more motivated.

He explained that he left the club last season on loan due to previous coach Simone Inzaghi.

He didn’t want me, he even put me out of the team. That’s why I left.

The 25-year-old Vavro, like many other players, will be returning to Rome this summer after going out on loan last season.

Sporting director Igli Tare and coach Maurizio Sarri need to decide which players to keep, and which should be transferred away again, with this summer’s pre-season training camp an important occasion for the players to prove themselves.

Vavro was part of the Slovakia squad for Euro 2020 this summer but was forced to withdraw before the second match due to a positive Covid-19 test.

The Slovakian defender made 11 La Liga appearances whilst on loan with Huesca last season.
