Genoa are interested in signing former Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo.

As reported by Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today, the Rossoblu are the only Serie A club interested in signing the 36-year-old Italian midfielder, who is currently a free agent following his contract expiry with the Biancocelesti last week.

Genoa are looking for a reliable and experienced player to shore up their midfield, with Parolo possibly being the right fit.

The 36-year-old Italian midfielder has stated that he wants to take some time to look around and assess other offers as well, in addition to the Rossoblu.

Parolo was a professional and reliable player across his seven years in a Lazio shirt. Last campaign under previous coach Simone Inzaghi, the Italian made 18 Serie A appearances for a total of 643 minutes.

He provided two assists and his tactical flexibility was key across a busy season, filling in as a defender or wing-back when needed.
