FIGC Approve Salernitana’s Registration to Serie A, Green Light to Trust Proposal

The FIGC have accepted Salernitana’s trust proposal and will allow them to register for Serie A.

As reported by Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the CoviSoc (or the Supervisory Committee on Professional Football Clubs) has given the green light for Salernitana’s registration to the Italian top flight after agreeing to Lazio president Claudio Lotito’s trust proposal.

CoviSoc analysed the financial plan given by Lotito, who managed to prove that the club does have enough funds to remain self-sufficient and continue comfortably until the end of the calendar year.

The FIGC have set a clear deadline for the sale of the club, however. Lotito has until 31st December to find a buyer, and failing that the club risks exclusion from the Italian topflight.

Lazio are also no longer allowed to have any market relations with the Granata.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani and UAE Sheik Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan have both expressed their interest in purchasing the Campania-based club.
