Marusic Arriving in Rome With His Agent to Discuss Contract Renewal With Lazio

Lazio wingback Adam Marusic will arrive in Rome today or tomorrow with his agent to discuss a contract renewal.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti squad are returning to Rome over the coming days in order to take their medical tests, ahead of the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.

One of those players is Marusic, who is travelling to Rome with his agent Mateja Kezman. The 28-year-old Montenegrin’s contract expires with Lazio next year in 2022 and the club are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

An agreement could be reached on the basis of a €1.5 million net per season salary, double what the Biancocelesti wing back currently earns.

The 28-year-old Marusic had a strong season last campaign under previous coach Simone Inzaghi, with his tactical flexibility proving key. The player made 36 Serie A appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
