AC Milan Open Talks With Lazio Star Luis Alberto’s Agent, Lotito Not Keen on a Deal

AC Milan could look to replace Hakan Calhanoglu with Lazio’s Luis Alberto, who missed yesterday’s pre-season medicals.

As reported by Italian journalist Alessandro Jacobone on Twitter earlier today, the Rossoneri have spoken with the 28-year-old Spaniard’s agent on two separate occasions in the past, with the most recent being during the talks to renew defender Davide Calabria’s contract.

Luis Alberto missed the pre-season medicals yesterday at the Paideia clinic in Rome and has reportedly asked for a slightly longer holiday, creating an embarrassing scene for the Roman club.

Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito is not keen to lose the 28-year-old Spaniard, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, and so negotiations between the two clubs will be tough, although the inclusion of defender Alessio Romagnoli could sweeten a possible deal.

Jacobone discussed the situation in two tweets, saying:

Davide Calabria’s renewal has been framed by the name of Luis Alberto, who seems to be more and more willing to try an experience far from Rome.

Talks are still in an embryonic state and negotiations are very complicated, but they have been discussed again.

In the meantime, Luis Alberto has missed his medical appointment, creating embarrassment at Lazio.

I don’t know if it will ever become a concrete negotiation, but in Formello they’ve known for a long time about his desire to change and there have already been two “talks” with Milan.

Stumbling block? Lotito as always
