Lazio full-back Elseid Hysaj bid farewell to Napoli following his departure from the club last week.
As seen in a post on his Instagram page earlier today, the 27-year-old Albanian said goodbye to the Partenopei fans, having joined the Biancocelesti as a free agent following his contract expiry with the Campania-based club.

Hysaj joined Napoli in the summer of 2015 from Empoli, following coach Maurizio Sarri. He stayed with the club for six years, leaving last week after his contract expired.
Below is a photo posted by Hysaj, accompanied by the caption:
Napoli, after 6 years it’s time to say goodbye, a post is not enough for me to thank everyone but I would like to thank my teammates, the club, the warehousemen, the great Tommaso who is a piece of Napoli history, the physiotherapists and everyone involved.
I would also like to thank the people I have met during this time, who have all been wonderful and helpful in my journey.
A special thanks goes to you fans who made me and my family feel at home. You are a special city and special fans, you give so much to everyone who wears the Napoli jersey, but I tell you that for me it was an honour to wear this jersey.
For 6 years I have given my soul, I have always sweated in the shirt, I have always tried to honour the shirt, the only thing I regret is not having celebrated my goal there with you with a full stadium.
This is not a farewell, it’s a goodbye, as the famous phrase says ‘when you go to Naples you cry twice, when you arrive and when you leave’.
It’s the truth, it’s just like that so I will always carry you in my heart, ciao guagliò.
Hysaj made 223 appearances for Napoli, scoring one goal and providing 10 assists in that time.
