Juventus Defender Rugani Is a Concrete Possibility for Lazio This Summer

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is a concrete possibility for Lazio this transfer window.

As reported by Italian newspaper Tuttosport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti want to give coach Maurizio Sarri more reinforcements this summer, with the attention now being turned to the defence.

The hot name currently is the 26-year-old Rugani, who is set to leave the Bianconeri this summer after eight years in Turin.

The Italian defender had a difficult season last campaign, making only two appearances for Rennes whilst on loan due to injury in the first half of the season. After the January transfer window, he made 16 Serie A appearances for Cagliari.

Coach Sarri worked with Rugani back in Empoli a few years ago and the 62-year-old Italian is a fan of the player, so he could be a strong low-cost option this summer.

Sporting director Igli Tare was interested in Rugani in the past, but now the idea seems significantly more concrete.
