Day 5 of Lazio’s Pre-Season Retreat: Squad Continue Learning Sarri’s Movements

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri continued teaching the squad his tactical system today in Auronzo di Cadore.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the Biancocelesti squad started today in the gym, warming up before heading out onto the training pitches to meet the 62-year-old Italian coach.

Sarri continued working with the defence, teaching them the correct movements and cover. This was the third identical defensive session, with the coach wanting them to memorise everything. Stefan Radu and Luiz Felipe were spared from the session as a precautionary measure.

After the completion of that session, the defenders moved to an adjacent pitch to do athletic work, whilst the midfielders and forwards began working with Sarri, focusing on attacking movements.

Following the conclusion of this session, he gathered the players to talk about what went right and what went wrong.

The rain continued as the players returned for the afternoon training session. Sarri briefed the squad, with the players doing a warmup before doing a full training session.

Finally, the Biancocelesti players played a mini-match before calling it a day, ending their fifth day of the pre-season training camp.

Lazio posted a video of some of their work on Twitter, alongside the caption: “Technical work in progress!”
