Liverpool Looking to Sell Shaqiri With Lazio Keen but Price Tag May Block Deal

Lazio are interested in Liverpool forward Xherdan Shaqiri but his price tag may force the Biancocelesti to look elsewhere.

As reported by English news outlet The Athletic earlier today, the Reds are looking to generate some funds this summer by selling their unneeded players, with the 29-year-old Swiss winger being surplus to requirements in Merseyside.

The Biancocelesti are serious about Shaqiri, looking to provide coach Maurizio Sarri with another top winger, but his price tag could push the Roman club to pursue other targets instead.

Liverpool want around €15 million for the 29-year-old Shaqiri, who impressed in this summer’s European Championships, helping Switzerland knock out world champions France in the Round of 16.

Contracted to Liverpool until 2023, Shaqiri made only 14 Premier League appearances last season, for a total of 551 minutes. In that time, he only provided two assists, both coming in wins against West Ham.
