Lazio Close to Signing Bordeaux’s Basic & Will Sign Another Defender, Longari Highlights

Italian transfer market expert Gianluigi Longari confirmed that Lazio are close to signing Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic.

Speaking in an interview with The Italian Football Podcast yesterday, the Sportitalia journalist commented on the Basic situation and other deals the club are working on this summer.

Lazio are close to signing Toma Basic and they will sign another central defender.

The rest depends on Correa, if they get money plus Sarabia.

The Biancocelesti have been working to sign the 24-year-old Basic from Bordeaux for some time now, believing him to be the perfect midfielder to join Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in coach Maurizio Sarri’s three-man midfield.

The Ligue 1 side are set to accept less than €10 million for the Croatian midfielder as the French side are working on solving some financial issues (even if their relegation to Ligue 2 was successfully appealed).

Lazio have been in talks with Paris Saint-Germain for weeks now, looking to sell the 26-year-old Joaquin Correa.

The Roman club have reached an agreement with PSG on the basis of €18 million plus Spanish winger Pablo Sarabia, who will fit nicely into Sarri’s 4-3-3 system, but talks have slowed for now.
