Sporting director Igli Tare had a series of phone calls yesterday, first with coach Maurizio Sarri who gave the green light, before contacting Liverpool.
Tare made a first offer of €10 million plus €2 million in add-ons for the 29-year-old Shaqiri, a little below Liverpool’s €15 million price tag.

There is room for negotiation and so the two parties will now work to try and find an agreement. Both Sarri and the Biancocelesti’s management are fans of the player, who had a strong Euro 2020 with Switzerland.
Shaqiri is currently enjoying his holiday after a busy summer but developments are expected in the coming days and weeks.
Good player Shaq. Sad to see him go.
