Lazio Talent Moro: “I Could Follow In Insigne’s Footsteps but at Lazio”

Lazio talent Raul Moro hopes to follow in Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne’s footsteps with the Biancocelesti.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 18-year-old Spanish winger first spoke about new coach Maurizio Sarri’s playing style.

I like it a lot, there’s speed, the search for possession and dominance of the game. It reminds me of Barcelona’s philosophy.

He touched on his relationship with the 62-year-old Italian coach.

He talks to everyone on the pitch, he gives us directions and advice, but I haven’t spoken to him personally.

Finally, Moro discussed the role of a winger in Sarri’s 4-3-3 system.

I think I can play it well, I could follow in Insigne’s footsteps but at Lazio.

The 18-year-old Moro was signed by Lazio for around €6 million from Barcelona back in the summer of 2019, with sporting director Igli Tare being a big fan of the young Spanish winger.

His current contract is set to expire with the club next year in 2022 but his agent is already in talks with the club to extend his deal.

An agreement has already been reached regarding salary but talks are still ongoing regarding the length of the deal, which will expire in either 2025 or 2026.

Moro made 22 appearances for the Lazio Primavera in the league last season, for a total of 1832 minutes. In that time, he scored 11 goals and provided five assists.
