Lazio left-back Riza Durmisi wants to convince coach Maurizio Sarri of his qualities this summer.
Speaking to Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) today, the 27-year-old Danish full-back first discussed this morning’s training session in Auronzo di Cadore.
Today’s session was very hard, but we are training well. I’m happy to be here.
I want to show that I’m a player who can be useful to this team. I have to do more. I try to be the first one on the pitch and the last one off.
He commented on his relationship with the rest of the squad.
I get on well with everyone. My teammates are guys with a positive mentality.
The former Real Betis full-back touched on his experiences with Salernitana whilst on loan last season.
I didn’t play much, but the goal was promotion and it was great to get there.
The Biancocelesti player spoke about his role and desire to convince coach Maurizio Sarri.
I feel more like a full-back, but I’m also good at playing as a centre-back. I’ve played in both positions in my career.
I want to try to convince Sarri. I know it’s difficult, but I’m working as hard as I can.
He commented on the various new members of staff that have joined the Biancocelesti environment this summer.
We’re working seriously and we’re all happy. I really like the way they work in defence, but it’s only been a week.
Finally, Durmisi discussed the team’s work with set-pieces.
We’re trying out lots of solutions, but we’ll see what the coach does.
The 27-year-old Durmisi, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2023, had a difficult season last campaign. He only made five Serie B appearances for Salernitana whilst on loan there, providing one assist in that time.
