Lazio winger Bobby Adekanye highlighted his excitement to improve under new coach Maurizio Sarri.

Speaking to Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) after yesterday’s 10-0 friendly win over local side Radio Club, the 22-year-old Dutch winger commented on the victory.

All the guys returned well physically and this is good, we can work well. The coach’s new tactics are different to the previous one, after this game I see that things can go well.

He touched on what the 62-year-old Italian coach asks of the forwards.

I haven’t spoken privately with the coach, what he wants from the forwards is that when the other team has the ball we have to go and press straight away.

That way the team can move forward, steal the ball and play. I’ve always played in this position, I like that Sarri plays with this formation. I like playing on the right wing to cut inside and score goals and assists.

Finally, Adekanye spoke about his efforts to improve and work with his teammates.

The whole team helps me a lot, in this game it was Caicedo who was telling me a lot of things because he’s a veteran. I’m happy to listen to him to improve.

I’ve improved off the pitch, I need to be more aggressive and score more goals and make more assists but in this formation I can do it.

The former Liverpool man has only made 15 first-team appearances for Lazio since signing from the Reds back in the summer of 2019.

Adekanye will be hoping to impress coach Sarri in this summer’s pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, although it’s hard to imagine the player being a part of the first team next season.
