New Round of Covid-19 Tests for Lazio Squad Following Yesterday’s Positive Case

The Lazio squad will undergo another round of Covid-19 tests today following yesterday’s positive case.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, one of the Biancocelesti Primavera players that joined the first team in the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday morning, being immediately put in isolation.

Another round of tests was carried out and no more positives were found, and the Lazio squad will do more Covid-19 tests today just to be safe.

The Biancocelesti have chosen not to comment on the situation, releasing no statement, and so it’s still not confirmed which player tested positive.

Lazio are hoping that no more players test positive ahead of their next friendly match against local side Fiori Barp Sospirolo, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening.

Next season stadiums are expected to re-open from the first game, with at least 25% capacity, although clubs and Lega Serie A are pushing for a minimum 50% capacity.
