Newly promoted side Venezia are currently in talks with Lazio for Moroccan midfielder Sofian Kiyine.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com earlier today, the 23-year-old Moroccan midfielder has returned from his loan spell with Salernitana and is now currently training in Formello, hoping to be called up to Maurizio Sarri’s retreat in Auronzo di Cadore.

Kiyine, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, made 13 Serie B appearances last season for Salernitana, for a total of 683 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist.

Venezia’s management and coach Paolo Zanetti are fans of the 23-year-old midfielder and so are currently in talks with Lazio regarding the player.

It’s likely that Kiyine will leave on another loan deal, although there is a chance that Venezia may decide to sign him outright.

Venezia have been absent from the Italian topflight since their relegation back in 2002 and fell all the way to Serie D due to bankruptcy before finally returning to Serie A this year.
