Lazio defender Patric highlighted how much fun the players had playing under coach Maurizio Sarri.
Speaking to Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) after the 11-0 friendly win over Fiori Barp Mas earlier today, the 28-year-old Spaniard first spoke about how the squad are feeling.
We are having fun, even if our muscles are not very fresh.
But you can see the right mentality, the one the coach wants.
He touched on what’s new this summer.
Certainly a great intensity. We’re gradually understanding what the coach wants.
We’re trying to play fast football and I’m convinced we’ll have a lot of fun.
Patric commented on his role in Sarri’s 4-3-3 system.
I’m comfortable in any position. I can play anywhere and I’m always available.
I’ve known my teammates for years.
Finally, Patric spoke about his various teammates in the squad like Luis Alberto and Luiz Felipe.
There were a lot of Spaniards on the pitch today and I’m happy about that. Luis Alberto has great quality, as does Milinkovic-Savic.
But I also want to praise Luiz Felipe. He’s always working hard and I like the way he plays.
Let’s hope he’s injury-free this year. He deserves to be at the top and he has everything to do so.
The 28-year-old Patric, who is contracted to Lazio until next year in 2022, made 25 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 1597 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist and helped the side keep nine clean sheets.
The Biancocelesti will play two more pre-season friendlies in Auronzo di Cadore this summer, against Serie C sides Triestina on Friday evening and against Padova on Tuesday next week.
