Goalkeeper Alia Renews His Contract With Lazio & Joins Serie C Side Monterosi on Loan

Lazio goalkeeper Marco Alia has joined Serie C side Monterosi on loan after extending his deal with the Biancocelesti.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 21-year-old Albanian shot-stopper is a product of the Biancocelesti’s youth system and played third choice behind Pepe Reina and Thomas Strakosha last season, but now has left to experience a new adventure.

The 21-year-old Alia has joined newly-promoted Serie C side Monterosi on loan, his first experience away from the Roman club, and so will be looking for regular playing time as he continues his development.

Alia’s contract was due to expire next year in 2022 and has signed a contract renewal, extending the deal until June 2023.

The 21-year-old Albanian shot-stopper has never made a first-team appearance for the Roman club but was on the bench for the majority of matches last season under previous coach Simone Inzaghi.
