Lazio Considered Hiring Parolo to Replace Peruzzi as Team Manager

Lazio considered hiring Marco Parolo to replace Angelo Peruzzi as the team manager.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are preparing to officially part with the former goalkeeper, who is ready to terminate his contract despite the fact that he is still contracted until next year.

Peruzzi has reportedly asked for more autonomy but has not received an answer from the club and so is preparing to leave the role after five years. He joined the club the same summer that previous coach Simone Inzaghi was officially appointed as head coach.

Lazio thought of hiring Parolo as Peruzzi’s successor, but the idea was immediately ruled out as the 36-year-old Italian midfielder is still not ready to retire just yet.

Parolo’s contract expired with Lazio at the end of last month and he has still not signed for a new club yet but has reiterated in recent interviews that he still wants to continue playing for at least another year.
