Manchester United Forward Andreas Pereira: “Lazio Has Priority in My Heart”

Manchester United forward Andreas Pereira highlighted his desire to return to Lazio in the future.

Speaking in an interview with Italian media outlet GianlucaDiMarzio.com earlier today, the 25-year-old Brazilian first discussed his experiences whilst on loan with the Biancocelesti last season.

At Lazio I always gave my all in the time I was given. I think my performances could be better if I had more minutes available and more freedom to play.

When you come in at the end of the game, the task you have to perform tactically is not the best. I’d like to come back to the Biancocelesti if I was given more time.

The Manchester United forward commented on his relationship with the Biancocelesti fans.

The fans are the main reason for my passion for Lazio.

Even without having them at the stadium, I’ve been able to feel their affection in the streets and especially on social media.

He briefly commented on his relationship with previous Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi, who left Rome after five years this summer in order to join Inter.

A good professional relationship.

Pereira then discussed the Biancocelesti’s new coach, Maurizio Sarri.

He’s a great coach, I have friends who have played in his teams and they have always praised his way of working.

It will be a change for the better for Lazio’s game. I love the style of play and the team spirit that there is in Serie A.

He touched on if he would be interested in returning to Italy in the future.

Lazio has priority in my heart, but your country has won me over, why not come back one day if the opportunity presents itself?

Finally, Pereira spoke about Lazio star Ciro Immobile.

He’s a scoring machine. I’m sure we could do a lot more if we had more time together on the pitch.

The 25-year-old Pereira, who is contracted to the Red Devils until 2023, made 26 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 528 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal and provided two assists.

The Brazilian only made three league starts last season under Inzaghi, struggling for consistent playing time.
