Napoli are interested in signing Lazio forward Felipe Caicedo this summer should Andrea Petagna leave.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com yesterday, Torino are keen to acquire the 26-year-old Petagna this summer as a replacement for Andrea Belotti, who has been heavily linked to Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

As such, Napoli are lining up a replacement for Petagna, with the 32-year-old Caicedo being considered as a strong option.

The Biancocelesti need to take stock of the situation, as Ciro Immobile is guaranteed to remain the main striker under new coach Maurizio Sarri and it’s still unclear whether the Italian coach would prefer to have Vedat Muriqi or Caicedo as his alternative.

There is nothing concrete yet but the interest is there, and things could develop over the coming weeks.

Caicedo, who is contracted to Lazio until next year in 2022, made 25 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 921 minutes. In that time, he scored eight goals.
