Lazio Still in Talks With Fiorentina for Winger Jose Callejon

Lazio are in talks with Fiorentina for Spanish winger Jose Callejon.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Viola have asked the Biancocelesti for around €4 million for the 34-year-old Spaniard, whose contract expires next year in 2022.

The Roman club have offered Fiorentina around €1.5-2 million instead. An agreement can still be found between the two sides, and the player himself is keen for the move.

Callejon would be thrilled to be reunited with coach Maurizio Sarri after the three years spent together with Napoli.

President Claudio Lotito wants to give Sarri another attacking midfielder or winger and would like to focus on Callejon, who is experienced and knows Sarri’s system well.

The 34-year-old Callejon made 20 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 654 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist, struggling for consistent minutes as he only made six league starts.
