Lazio’s Marusic: “We All Had Our Vaccinations, There Are No Anti-Vaxxers”

Lazio full-back Adam Marusic denied reports that there were anti-vaxxers present in the Biancocelesti environment.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 28-year-old Montenegrin full-back first spoke about the changes under new coach Maurizio Sarri.

We have changed coach and formation. Now we play with four players in defence. For the moment we are working very well.

Last year I played both a wing back and centre back, but in the national team I always played full-back.

For me there are no problems. The coach is asking us to always be high up. It will certainly take time for everyone to adapt.

The Biancocelesti player confirmed that the squad and staff had all taken the Covid-19 vaccine.

This morning we all had our vaccinations. There are no anti-vaxxers.

The 28-year-old Montenegrin commented on his physical condition after such a busy season.

Last year I worked hard to avoid injuries. For the moment I’m fine and I hope to continue like this. I feel good and we’re working hard.

We talk a lot with the coach and for the moment everything is going well.

He touched on his possible contract renewal with the Biancocelesti.

We’re talking with the club and we’ll see what happens.

I’m happy to be here and I want to play like I did last year.

Finally, Marusic spoke about the objectives for next season.

I think it’s too early to talk about that, but our hope is to get back into the Champions League.

The 28-year-old Marusic, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until next year in 2022, made 36 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 2968 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals, provided four assists, and helped the side keep 11 clean sheets.

The Montenegrin was key last season, with his tactical flexibility proving incredibly important for previous coach Simone Inzaghi.
