It’s still unclear whether Thomas Strakosha or Pepe Reina will be Lazio’s starting goalkeeper next season.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Tempo (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the two players have a strong relationship but there is still an unspoken duel between the duo for a starting spot in Maurizio Sarri’s squad next season.

During the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, the two shot-stoppers have supported and encouraged each other, with all saves being accompanied by words of esteem and affection.

Sarri will need to decide which goalkeeper will start next season. It could be the Spanish veteran Reina, as the pair know each other well from their time together with Napoli, but the Albanian shot-stopper may secure his spot.
Strakosha played the full 90 minutes in the pre-season friendly against Serie C side Triestina earlier this week and impressed, although with his contract expiring next year in 2022, things could change as the summer develops.
