Either Caicedo or Muriqi Will Be Sold by Lazio This Summer

Either Felipe Caicedo or Vedat Muriqi will leave Lazio this summer, with coach Maurizio Sarri only needing one backup striker.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach was clear in his presentation press conference that only two strikers are needed in the squad, with star forward Ciro Immobile obviously being one.

This leaves either Caicedo or Muriqi to play backup to the 31-year-old Italian striker, meaning the other will need to leave this summer.

Both players are showing their qualities at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, but for now, it seems more likely that Caicedo will be the one who departs this transfer window, especially considering that his contract expires with the Biancocelesti next year in 2022.

It’s difficult to imagine that Muriqi won’t be given another chance to impress in Rome, but Sarri is the man who has the final say regardless.
