Fiorentina winger Jose Callejon’s €4 million price tag is considered too high by Lazio.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Nazione (via LazioNews24) earlier today, Biancocelesti sporting director Igli Tare is determined to provide new coach Maurizio Sarri with the 34-year-old Spanish winger, whom the Italian coach knows well from their time together at Napoli.

Tare wants to find a way to sign Callejon this summer, but there is an obstacle – his €4 million price tag. The Biancocelesti would like to sign the player on a free transfer or through a small fee of no more than €1.5 million.

Rocco Commisso’s side are keen to sell the 34-year-old Spanish winger this summer, wanting to free themselves of his hefty wage bill.

The two parties are set to talk further about this deal at the end of next month.

Contracted to Fiorentina until 2022, Callejon made 20 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 654 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist, making only six league starts.
