Lazio winger Jony went off injured during today’s training exercises in Auronzo di Cadore.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the midfielders and forwards entered the pitch this morning to work on tactical exercises under the watchful gaze of coach Maurizio Sarri, which is where the 30-year-old Spaniard suffered the injury.

Jony hurt his right ankle, collapsing to the ground. Visibly in pain, the Spaniard only got up with the help of the medical staff, who rushed on the pitch to help.

His training session ended early as he left the pitch with a limp. It’s not likely to be a serious injury, but the Biancocelesti do not want to take any risks with physical condition in their pre-season work.

The 30-year-old Jony missed seven games through injury for CA Osasuna whilst on loan last season, suffering a muscle injury that plagued him from the end of January to early April.
