Lazio Draw 1-1 With Padova in Their Fourth Pre-Season Friendly

Lazio drew 1-1 with Serie C side Padova in their final pre-season friendly in Auronzo di Cadore.

The Biancocelesti put out the following Starting XI:

Lazio (4-3-3): Pepe Reina; Manuel Lazzari, Luiz Felipe, Patric, Elseid Hysaj; Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lucas Leiva, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Felipe Caicedo, Raul Moro.

Padova kicked off the match, starting the Roman club’s final pre-season friendly of their stay in Auronzo.

After 18 minutes, the Serie C side took the lead thanks to a goal from 28-year-old Italian midfielder Simone Della Latta, giving Padova a 1-0 lead.

Lazio found an equaliser in the 41st minute courtesy of Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto, who found the back of the net from 12 yards, converting a penalty. 

The first half finished 1-1, with Lazio mostly in control but failing to take the lead.

At half-time, coach Maurizio Sarri made four changes, taking off Elseid Hysaj, Felipe Caicedo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Felipe Anderson, replacing them with Danilo Cataldi, Luka Romero, Vedat Muriqi and Adam Marusic.

Despite remaining mostly in the driving seat, Lazio still couldn’t find an advantage, with the game remaining 1-1.

In the 64th minute Sarri made six changes. Lucas Leiva, Luis Alberto, Manuel Lazzari, Raul Moro, Luiz Felipe and Patric came off in place of Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, Gonzalo Escalante, Mohamed Fares, Andre Anderson, Denis Vavro and Stefan Radu.

Even with Sarri and Lazio’s best efforts, a winner could not be found, with the match ending 1-1 in Auronzo di Cadore, finishing Lazio’s pre-season training camp.

The squad will return to Rome tomorrow and will have a short holiday before kicking off their second pre-season camp in Marienfeld, Germany.
