Lazio’s Muriqi Is Only in Istanbul for Personal Reasons, Not Joining Fenerbahce

Lazio forward Vedat Muriqi is in Istanbul for personal reasons, not to sign for Fenerbahce.

As reported by Kosovan football journalist Arlind Sadiku on Twitter last night, the 27-year-old Kosovan forward is currently on a short holiday following the conclusion of the Biancocelesti’s pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore earlier this week and is now in Turkey.

Rumours this week suggested that Muriqi was in Istanbul as he was looking for a return to Super Lig giants Fenerbahce, but this has been ruled out by the SuperSport journalist, who suggests that he’s there for his own personal reasons.

The 27-year-old Muriqi performed well in the pre-season training camp in Auronzo, with coach Maurizio Sarri working hard to ensure his adaption to the new tactical system.

The 62-year-old Italian coach was also seen defending the player from fans, telling them that any negative comments or boos towards him would see them be kicked out of the facility.
