Lazio Have Exactly 1 Month to Make Sales in Order to Secure New Signings: The Situation

Lazio have exactly one month to make some sales if they want to secure new signings.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the transfer market will officially close in exactly one month, meaning that the Biancocelesti need to hurry and sell some players if they want to unblock the liquidity ratio and start making new signings.

There are no plans to add new players in the midfield or the defence, although Denis Vavro’s departure may mean a new centre-back is needed.

Coach Maurizio Sarri understands the situation and sporting director Igli Tare has hinted that more moves will be made, perhaps closer to the end of this month.

Julian Brandt had been identified as a top reinforcement for the attack but talks with Borussia Dortmund have broken down and so other options will be focused on.

Agent Fali Ramadani met Tare last night to discuss Josip Brekalo and Filip Kostic, both of whom have contracts expiring in 2023. The former can arrive on a loan deal with a €20 million buy option attached, whilst the latter is worth a similar amount but would fill a non-EU player slot.

The two slots are free and were expected to be given to Felipe Anderson and Dimitrije Kamenovic, but the young Serbian defender could be sent away on loan instead as he didn’t particularly impress Sarri in Auronzo di Cadore.
