Kamenovic Could Leave Lazio on Loan This Summer After Failing to Convince Sarri

New signing Dimitrije Kamenovic could leave Lazio on loan this summer after failing to impress coach Maurizio Sarri in Auronzo di Cadore.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 21-year-old Serbian defender will join the squad for the second pre-season retreat in Marienfeld, but could still leave the club before the end of this month.

Kamenovic didn’t convince Sarri at the training camp in Auronzo and he could leave on loan in order to free up a non-EU player slot in the squad, which would then allow Lazio to sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic.

This depends on how the talks with the Bundesliga club go, but should things develop further and a deal become more likely, then Kamenovic will be sent away.

The 21-year-old Kamenovic, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2026, made 30 Super Liga Srbije appearances last season for FK Cukaricki, for a total of 2391 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals, provided three assists and helped the club keep 17 clean sheets.
