Lazio Continuing to Follow Borussia Dortmund’s Brandt, Even if Deal Seems Unlikely

Lazio are continuing to follow Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt, even if a deal seems unlikely.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the Biancocelesti management are working hard to provide coach Maurizio Sarri with a new winger ahead of the start of the season, looking for a player that will fit well in his 4-3-3 system.

One of Lazio’s top targets this summer has been the 25-year-old Brandt, who is contracted to the Bundesliga club until 2024. The club were in talks with Dortmund last month regarding the player but these negotiations collapsed, but despite this Lazio are still following him.

Currently, Brandt is dealing with Covid-19, but he has seemingly impressed new coach, Marco Rose, meaning Lazio only have a small chance of signing the German before the end of the month when the transfer window will close.

The Biancocelesti first need to find a way to solve their liquidity ratio issues, however, which means they need to sell some players first.
