Genoa Reportedly Interested in Signing Lazio Defender Kamenovic on Loan

Genoa are reportedly interested in signing Lazio defender Dimitrije Kamenovic on loan this month.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking for a new club for the 21-year-old Serbian left-back, who did not impress coach Maurizio Sarri in the pre-season retreat in Auronzo di Cadore.

Sending away Kamenovic on loan would free up a non-EU player slot in the squad, as the 21-year-old doesn’t hold an EU passport, and so Lazio would be free to secure another non-EU player, like Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic.

Genoa are keen to acquire the 21-year-old Kamenovic on loan and developments are expected in the coming weeks, with the Biancocelesti needing to offload the young Serbian defender.

Kamenovic made 30 Super Liga Srbije appearances last season for FK Cukaricki, for a total of 2391 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals, provided three assists and helped the side keep 17 clean sheets.
