Lazio Have Lined up Multiple Alternatives to Kostic Including Brekalo & Shaqiri

Whilst Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic is Lazio’s number one forward target this summer, there are also multiple alternatives.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are in talks with the Bundesliga club for the 28-year-old Serbian winger, but his non-EU status may force the Roman club to focus on other options instead.

Lazio want to sign a new winger for coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system and their main alternative, for now, is VfL Wolfsburg’s Josip Brekalo, who would fit well in the 62-year-old Italian’s game.

They’re also keeping an eye on Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri, who could be released from his contract with the Reds this month.

Another idea is Real Sociedad’s Adnan Januzaj, whose contract with the Spanish clubs expires next year in 2022.

Talks with Borussia Dortmund for Julian Brandt have fully collapsed and so the 25-year-old German is no longer a target.
