Offers Beginning to Arrive for Lazio Forward Duo Caicedo & Muriqi, One Will Be Sold

Offers are beginning to arrive for Lazio forwards Felipe Caicedo and Vedat Muriqi, with one of the two set to leave this month.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, coach Maurizio Sarri has indicated that he only needs one of the two players to provide backup to Ciro Immobile, and so the club are free to sell one of either Caicedo or Muriqi.

Fenerbahce have stepped up in their attempts to sign the 32-year-old Caicedo, with Atalanta and Inter also closely monitoring the situation. The Ecuadorian forward’s contract expires with Lazio next year in 2022, so a sale this summer is preferable to leaving on a free transfer.

Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Valencia have made enquiries about the 27-year-old Muriqi, who failed to impress in his debut season in Serie A.

The next few weeks will be decisive for Lazio, as selling players will then allow them to make new signings, like Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic.
