Maurizio Sarri Expects More From Lazio Winger Felipe Anderson

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is demanding more from returning winger Felipe Anderson.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 28-year-old Brazilian winger is expected to start in today’s pre-season friendly against Eredivisie side FC Twente and the 62-year-old Italian coach is asking the player to impress.

Sarri thinks that Felipe Anderson holds the ball too much and slows down the patterns of play which are characteristic of his attacking system, and so wants him to pass quicker and move more dangerously off the ball.

There have been many reprimands and warnings in both training matches and friendlies, although each time they’ve been in a positive tone, with Sarri focusing on helping the Lazio winger to adapt well to his system.

Felipe Anderson will start against Twente tonight and the 62-year-old Italian coach is hoping for more positive signs from the Brazilian winger, especially with the Serie A season starting so soon.
