Marusic Signs Four-Year Contract Renewal With Lazio, Announcement Soon

Lazio full-back Adam Marusic has signed a four-year contract renewal with Lazio.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 28-year-old Montenegrin’s contract was due to expire next year in 2022 and it needed to be extended, both to avoid him leaving for free and also because he’ll be useful for coach Maurizio Sarri.

Talks have been going on for some time now but a full agreement has finally been reached and the player has put pen to paper already.

It hasn’t been officially deposited to Lega Serie A yet, though, as Lazio will still need to resolve their issues with the liquidity ratio in order to allow the confirmation.

The 28-year-old Marusic, who joined Lazio in 2017 from KV Oostende for around €5.5 million, made 36 Serie A appearances last season, for a total of 2968 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals and provided four assists.
